Archimedes came to us as a surrender from a pet store that was closing. He was shy and a little depressed at first, but thanks to Macadamia, he learned how to be a confident, playful bird. She helped bring him out of his shell and taught him the ropes of bird life — and now he’s full of curiosity, personality, and charm.

Macadamia has a history of respiratory sensitivities, but she’s strong, happy, and thriving now. She’s full of personality and loves hanging out near her favorite humans (the more social of the pair), chattering away, and interacting with toys and perches.

These two love to entertain — they mimic cat meows, laughter, and even the occasional phrases like “what doing?” or “dammit!” They enjoy being near people, but aren’t interested in being handled, preferring to interact from their safe perches.

Macadamia and Archimedes are a bonded pair and must be adopted together. Because of their unique personalities and needs, extensive bird research and bird proofing of your home is required before adoption, and they are available foster-to-adopt only. Their forever home must respect their personalities, provide space, enrichment, and care, and be ready for their chatter-filled adventures.
